Officials’ Commission
The Officials’ Commission is the Technical Commission of the United Rafting Sport Department responsible for matters relating to International Technical Officials (ITOs).
The Commission supports the development of common officiating standards and the consistent application of United Rafting rules at international and continental competitions.
Role and Responsibilities
The Officials’ Commission coordinates and supports activities concerning International Technical Officials.
Its current responsibilities include:
- coordination and management of activities relating to International Technical Officials;
- promotion of uniform judging standards within United Rafting competitions;
- support for the education, recruitment and development of International Technical Officials;
- development of the technical framework governing the Officials system;
- preparation of proposals concerning the structure and future functioning of the Officials’ Commission.
Through its work, the Commission contributes to the harmonisation of officiating practices and to the development of a common international technical standard for United Rafting competitions.
Officials’ Commission
On 22 May 2026, the United Rafting General Board adopted Resolution 10/2026 establishing the interim Officials’ Commission within the Sport Department.
The interim structure was created to ensure the immediate operational continuity of international officiating activities during the initial implementation phase of United Rafting and pending the adoption of a specific technical regulation governing the definitive Commission.
The interim Commission has also been entrusted with preparing the draft technical regulation that will govern its future structure, composition, appointment and/or election procedures, mandate, powers and operational functioning.
