COMMUNICATION
A shared history.
A united future.
United Rafting’s communication strategy is built around one clear principle: preserve the history of international rafting while building a single, recognisable global identity for the future.
The history, communities, experience and recognition developed over the years are preserved and reorganised under one common framework.
United Rafting is the overarching institutional identity and the international governing body for rafting. Within this framework, two established operational brands retain their specific role and identity.

World Rafting
The competitive side of rafting.
Evolving from the former World Rafting Federation, it is the public-facing identity for the competitive side of the sport: World Championships, international competitions, athletes, rankings, results, media, broadcasting and digital content.
The World Rafting identity has been progressively developed over recent years through international events, communication campaigns, partnerships, digital channels and event branding. It is now a recognised asset among athletes, organisers, partners and the wider rafting community.
Maintaining World Rafting allows United Rafting to preserve that recognition and continue developing a strong and consistent international sporting identity.

Guide Training & Education
Experience carried forward.
Developed from the historic IRF Guide Training & Education system, GTE carries forward more than thirty years of experience in river guide training, safety, education and certification.
Its identity is deliberately preserved to ensure continuity for instructors, guides and professionals who have built and relied upon the programme over decades.
One communication ecosystem.
United Rafting, World Rafting and GTE therefore have different but complementary functions:
United Rafting
Institutional governance and global direction.
World Rafting
Sport, competitions, athletes and media.
GTE
Guide training, education, safety and professional qualifications.
Together they form a single communication ecosystem, combining the heritage of international rafting with a unified direction for its future.
Official communication also brings together the different dimensions of our community: competitions, athletes, river guides, National Federations, education, grassroots development, heritage and the rivers on which our sport depends.
