The 2025 ICF-WRF Junior&U23 World Rafting Championships are in full swing this week in Solkan, Slovenia. Young athletes from around the world are ready to battle it out on the Soča River, competing across the key disciplines: RX, Slalom and Downriver.
The Opening Ceremony took place by the river more than 140 athletes were presented to the river world yesterday evening. WRF President - Danilo Barmaz welcomed the rafting delegations from 14 countries with a special reminder: "During this delicate period worldwide I hope that this event will be considered as an opportunity to grow together, meet new viewpoints and of course enjoy the river and the peace it teaches us."
ECA Board member - Manuela Gawehn remarked the importance of the cooperation not only between countires but between sports "I think that canoe and rafting have a lot to share and to learn from each other."
The competition schedule is packed with adrenaline-filled races and fierce head-to-head challenges. Teams are giving their all, pushing their limits for the world title in both the Junior and U23 categories.
