Position:
Director of the Sport Department

Biography

Eric Boudreau is a Canadian rafting specialist with more than 25 years of experience in the sport, spanning competitive rafting, judging, event organisation and international sports administration.

From international competition to sport leadership.

He represented Team Canada as an elite rafting athlete from 1999 to 2008 and became an IRF Judge in 2006. Since then, he has served as Head Judge and jury member at numerous World Rafting Championships, while also organising national competitions and an IRF World Cup event in Canada.

Eric has played an active role in the development of international judging standards. He founded the IRF Judges Committee and contributed to the establishment and development of its judge certification system. In 2018, he became Vice President of the International Rafting Federation, with responsibility for sport and competition.

Leading the Sport Department.

Today, as Sports Director of United Rafting, Eric leads the Federation’s Sport Department, coordinating the development and implementation of competition regulations, event standards and formats, the international sporting calendar, and the technical framework supporting United Rafting competitions.

The Sport Department works with National Federations, athletes, officials, technical commissions and event organisers in the coordination and continued development of rafting at international level.

His approach to the role reflects a long-standing belief that the development of international rafting depends on cooperation between the different parts of the sport.

For Eric, athletes, officials, organisers and National Federations are not separate components, but part of the same international system, each contributing its experience and perspective to its continued development.
