In a thrilling display of skill and competition, the Japanese Rafting community gathered on March 22nd-23rd for the national selection races held on the stunning Yoshino River. This event served as a crucial qualification round for both the U23 and Senior categories, paving the way for Japan's national team to participate in the prestigious World Rafting Championships.
With 20 teams from various regions of Japan competing across two intense days, the event showcased exceptional talent and fierce determination. In the senior men's category alone, 7 teams battled it out, demonstrating a high level of competition that raised the bar for future national events. The mixed category also stood out, reflecting growing interest and participation in this exciting discipline in Japan.
Keita Nakahashi, who is leading the Japanese Race Rafting Competition Secretariat, expressed his gratitude and excitement about the opportunity to send a team from Japan to the World Championships. "I am very honored to be able to represent Japan at the global stage, and we are actively encouraging athletes to register and represent our nation," Nakahashi stated.
