The final day of competitions at the 2026 African Rafting Championships and World Rafting Cup in Sagana, Kenya, has officially drawn to a close, marking a fantastic experience and a monumental success for the sport. As the first event of its kind in the region, it stands as a historic milestone for international competitive rafting. The whole rafting community extends a massive thank you to everyone involved, with a special note of profound gratitude to the super welcoming local community that made this event truly unforgettable. 

This landmark competition represents a powerful new starting point and the undeniable beginning of a true global rafting movement across Africa. Throughout the challenging sprint, RX, and slalom events - we witnessed the thrilling expansion of various competing nations and the remarkable technical growth of all the athletes present. The unwavering dedication to professionalism, safety, and outdoor leadership was on full display, setting an incredibly high standard as we look ahead to next year's highly anticipated international calendar. 

On the water, the performances were nothing short of spectacular. In the 2026 African Rafting Championships, the host nation delivered a masterclass on their home rapids. Kenyan teams dominated the overall standings, with KEN 1 winning the Mixed category with 270 points, KEN 2 taking the Women's title with a perfect 300 points, KEN 1 securing the Para-Rafting gold, and KEN 2 triumphing in the Men's division. 

The 2026 World Rafting Cup standings brought intense international cross-competition to the Sagana waters. Team ITA 1 showcased exceptional skill and consistency, securing the overall top spots in the Men's (290 points), Women's (300 points), and Para-Rafting (300 points) categories. Meanwhile, team AIN 3 navigated the challenging currents to claim the overall victory in the World Cup Mixed division with 300 points. Strong international performances were also seen from CZE 1, who took second in the Men's World Cup, while local heroes like KEN 2 continued to prove their elite status on the global stage.
