The Bulgarian Rafting Federation is set to host an elite International Rafting Training Camp on the renowned rapids of the Struma River in the Kresna Gorge from July 31st to August 2nd, 2026. Open to athletes and clubs worldwide, this intensive three-day event offers a unique opportunity to train under the guidance of one of the sport's most decorated athletes and connect with the global rafting community.

Leading the camp is Brazilian National Rafting Team member and 7-time World Rafting Champion, Eduardo Degrandi. Currently stationed in Bulgaria, Degrandi will bring his world-class outdoor expertise and leadership to the water. The core objective of the camp is to foster high-level technical training, elevate guiding standards, facilitate international knowledge exchange, and help crews dial in their preparation for upcoming global competitions.

Initially presented during a recent sports commission meeting, the initiative highlights our shared commitment to community growth, safety, and professional development. While the event is rapidly approaching, the Bulgarian Rafting Federation extends a warm, open invitation to any international athletes or clubs who can make the trip on short notice.

Participation in the training camp is entirely free of charge. Attendees are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation, though the Bulgarian Rafting Federation is ready to assist with local recommendations and logistics to ensure a smooth experience for visiting teams.
